The Westborough School Uniform

School Uniform – September 2026
The Government has introduced a new legal requirement for schools to limit the number of compulsory branded uniform items. The aim of these changes is to help make school uniforms more affordable for families whilst maintaining a smart and consistent appearance across the school.
After carefully reviewing our uniform, Westborough will have two compulsory branded items from September 2026:
-
A blue school jumper or cardigan
- A white PE T-shirt
Our branded fleece will continue to be available as an optional item. We know this has become a popular choice with many families as it provides an extra layer during colder weather and can be worn as part of both the everyday school uniform and PE kit. However, it is entirely optional and is not a compulsory purchase.
These uniform expectations will apply to all pupils from September 2026.

Over the coming year we will also be moving towards black PE shorts as our preferred option, as these are generally easier for families to find and purchase.
Whilst we fully support the Government’s commitment to reducing the cost of school uniforms, we also recognise that some families may still find purchasing new uniform difficult.
If you require support, please contact the school office in confidence. We will always do our best to provide assistance wherever possible.
Our approved uniform supplier is the Schoolwear Centre, which currently has a uniform sale running until 16 August 2026. Families may wish to take advantage of this offer before the new academic year begins. I have attached a price list for your information.

To avoid confusion, it is not compulsory to buy school uniform from our supplier.
You are still welcome to buy school uniform without the school logo on it.
However, we would ask that you please adhere to the school colours of
white polo shirt/shirt, black or grey trousers/dress/skirt, royal blue sweatshirt/jumper and black shoes.
For PE, the children must wear a logo white t-shirt, black or blue shorts and plimsolls or trainers. In the colder months black or blue leggings or track suit bottoms can be worn.
