Thank you for choosing our nursery and we hope that you have had a lovely summer. We have lots of lovely things planned for the coming year and hope that your children are very happy here. We are very excited to meet you all.

Our topic this half term is called ‘All about me’ and we will be exploring how the children have grown. We would like you to share a baby photograph and a family picture on Tapestry. We will also be finding out about the children's favourite things to do.

Learning about colours

We will be focusing on one colour a week and would like the children to bring in an item from home relating to that colour, giving them the opportunity to talk about their item - helping to develop confidence, knowledge and understanding and language skills.

Red - 21st September.

Yellow - 28th September.

Pink 5th- October.

Green- 12th October.

Purple- 19th October.

26th October - Half Term

Orange – 2nd November.

Blue - 9th November.

We use the online journal called Tapestry, to show what your child is up to and learning at school. You can use it too, to tell us about what your child is getting up to outside of school. If you haven't yet started your Tapestry account, please speak to one of us and we will help you get started.

Please make sure that everything the children bring/wear to Nursery is named.

All children will need a coat, as we will be going outside every day.

The children are to bring in their own healthy snacks and drink (in a named water bottle). Westborough is a 'nut free' school so NO NUT PRODUCTS *.

This includes chocolate spreads - see below*. Snacks should include fresh fruit, vegetables. All grapes to be cut in half.

Nursery starts at 8.30. The gates open at 8.20 and must be locked again to secure the school at 8.35

Is Nutella allowed in nut free schools?

No, Nutella is not allowed in nut-free schools. Nutella is made from hazelnuts, which are tree nuts. Nut-free school policies ban all tree nuts and peanuts to protect students with severe, life-threatening allergies

Supermarket Free From chocolate spreads

Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons all carry "Free From" chocolate or cocoa spreads in their dedicated allergy aisles. Sainsbury's runs a nut-free section online that is worth bookmarking. Quality varies — most own-brand spreads still rely on a lot of sugar and rapeseed oil to do the work — but they are the cheapest entry point if a child suddenly needs a switch and you are not sure what they will actually eat.
