Your class teacher is Miss Chambers

Our PE days are - Monday and Wednesday.

Children should wear their PE kit to school on PE days. 

Please arrive at school on time at 8:20 prepared for the day  

 

I hope you are excited to begin a new term and new year at the top of the school. We are really looking forward to getting to know you all and know you will be working to the best of your abilities to show off your talents and produce work to the highest standard. Please arrive on time at 8:20 daily ready for learning.

 

We have an exciting year planned; lots of interesting topics and fun activities to look forward to as well.

Our swimming lessons are this half term; an email will be sent to you about when these lessons will begin.

Our P.E days are on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please make sure you have the correct P.E kit for these days.

School uniform will be checked from day 1. Please make sure you have the correct clothing and footwear. Any queries please address to the senior leadership team.

Jewellery should not be worn and long hair needs to be tied back. Please do not wear nail varnish or false nails and make up is also not to be worn.

Class Text is Kaspar Prince of Cats by Micheal Morpurgo.

 We will be basing our writing around this with poetry and a newspaper article.

  

Maths – Place value including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

 

Reading skills including oracy , fluency and book discussions including retrieval.

 

Science – Animals and humans , circulatory system and how our heart works.

 

History – Exploring the Titanic. Why was it so significant? Why did it sink?

 

PSHE – Regulating emotions including managing stress.

 

Art – Sculpture – Exploring artist and using clay to make own model.

 

D.T – ‘Come dine with me’ research and design a three course meal.

 

French – Al’ecole ( at school).

 

R.E – What does it mean for Hindus , Muslims and Christians to commit to key beliefs.

 

Homework expectations for the first half term are to read daily (for at least 30 minutes), practise times tables on TTR and to engage with Spelling Shed activities. Homework exercise books will be given out at the start of the next half term.
