In Writing - we will be sharing 'How to Train Your Dragon'  by Cressida Cowell. This book is the inspiration for the very popular movies, but the story is very different! We will be writing creature descriptions of dragons and writing a set of instructions on how to look after a dragon once you capture it.

In Maths- we will begin the term by working on multiplication and division, including formal written methods. We will also be learning about length and perimeter, and we will begin our fractions topic in the final week. 

In French - we will be learning how to talk about equipment that we use in the classroom.

In RE- we are learning about Hinduism and the beliefs that Hindus have, with a focus on their beliefs regarding god and the divine.

In Science - we will be exploring the world of living things and the habitats that they live in.

In PHSE -  we will be thinking about how we belong to a community and showing compassion to others.

In History - we are learning about the Anglo Saxons and why they settled in Britain.

In DT - we will be designing and creating pavilions, using some tools and developing our knowledge of how buildings are designed to be structurally secure.

In Music - we will begin our journey around the world with Miss Kent on the Ukulele.

Homework: Please try to ensure that your child reads each night, either alone or with an adult, and talk about what they have read. Make predictions about what might happen next. Any reading will ideally be recorded in their reading records. The date and signature from an adult is all that is needed.

Paper homework will be based on current learning, as well as developing confidence and understanding of the times tables. 

'Spelling Shed' and 'Times table rockstars' - Times table rockstars practice has been individually targeted for children using the 'Garage' mode, and assignments on spelling shed have been set for children to practice, which will be shown to children in the coming weeks.
