Welcome back to the Summer term!
In Maths this half term we will be adding and subtracting fractions, looking at unit fractions and non-unit fractions of a set of objects.
We will be learning about money, adding and subtracting money.
We will be learning about the time, telling the time to 5 minutes and telling the time to hours and minutes.
We will be learning to read the time on a digital clock, and about time spans - years, months, weeks and days.
In Writing we will be writing using speech bubbles, direct speech and learning how to punctuate speech. We will be writing a recount of a Greek myth.
In Science – we will be learning about light, what is light, what do we need light for, Using torches to learn about reflections using different materials and learning about Opaque, transparent and translucent objects.
In History – we will be looking at key events that took place in Ancient Greece. What was life in Ancient Greece? Who were the key gods and goddesses. What was life of a spartan soldier boy and learn about Alexander the great.
In Re – We will be thinking about how and why people try to make the world a better place. How can the Golden Rule help people to work out how to make the world a better place. Tikkun Olam how do Jewish people try to make the world a better place and how do Muslims try to make the world a better place.
In Dt we will be using different sewing techniques to make a cushion.
In Art we will learn about Impressionist painters Monet and Van Gogh and their style of painting. We will try to paint using an impressionist style.

In French – we will be learning how to present ourselves, learning to say how we are, how old we are and where we live.
PE Days -Monday and Thursday
Children should wear their PE kit to school on PE days.
